Journaling for Back-to-School – And Business
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established” (Proverbs 1:3 ESV).
The end of August and beginning of September are the time for back-to-school – and business. It is a time when routines and schedules are resumed after two months of vacations, summer camps, family visits, and day trips take place and are enjoyed.
Now that it has been a few weeks since routines and schedules have been resumed, it is a good time to set aside a few minutes and, in your journal, take stock to know what is and isn’t working well. Here are some Journaling Prompts to get you started:
- What are your mornings like? Do you and your family members have enough time to get ready for school, work, or the first meeting of the day? Or do you feel rushed to get ready in the mornings? Why might this be? What could you and your family change to improve your mornings?
- What are your days like? Are you struggling to get everything done or do you have enough time to work on and complete tasks? Do you have some flexibility in when meetings are scheduled? How might you be able to better organize your day so that you can focus on things that need to be done?
- What are your evenings like? Is there enough time to make and enjoy dinner together as a family without rushing? Do you have some evenings when every family member is home and enjoy being together as a family?
Start with the above prompts and pay attention to how you answer them. Then, take the necessary steps to change what needs to be changed so that your morning, days, and evenings allow you to enjoy each day to the fullest and complete the work that needs to be done, noting in your journal the progress you are making and what is working well.
